This is a do-it-yourself estimating program, for self builders, where you can estimate the cost of your own house. 

We have assumed that you are fairly familiar with a computer before you attempt anything here.

This program is intended as an aid to homeowners who are anticipating building.

It is not intended as an alternative to any Estimators or Quantity Surveyors 

This is a fairly simple process, that you can easily complete yourself, but if you pick up any problems then it may be better if you contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The first thing you will need to do is to get the prices from the hardware merchant, building supplier or suchlike. If you look at the bottom of the page you will see a green tab, put your mouse on that tab and get it on screen. Print out that and send that off to the relevant suppliers. When you get the prices back from the suppliers, without changing the format, get the prices onto the page. This will then transfer the prices into the program. If you are not too sure of the exact format, go onto the blue tab, which is the same, only a locked in version so it cannot be changed. If you tell the supplier that you are building a house, or whatever, we are quite sure they will willingly oblige you in your request.

Then you will have to acquaint yourself with the house drawing.

The house areas must go into the

shaded areas, keeping the floors

in their correct order. The computer will pick up the ground floor and put the hardcore, concrete and everything else in there, in the upper floors it will put in timber floors.

remember to put on the profit that you will expect the builder to take from the building

The demolitions will go onto the

areas, just follow what is asked of you and put everything into these areas

It is very important to remember that if you want a lot of information to go into one box, then you must use the = sign, that will calculate everything on that box and give an answer

If you are calculating, for instance, the wall areas, with the same heights, then use the = sign, put all the measures into the same box, and then put the height in the next box.

As you go through everything you must remember the = sign and just fill in what is asked of you.

It is very impotant that you only write in the areas where the question is asked, if you go outside these boundaries, you will not be able to use this programe and it be be viod - you will just be wasting your money!
